The new game, same currency. That, however, doesn’t mean you’ll be able to convert your Maplestory 1 mesos to Maplestory 2 mesos. That means working all over again to earn your millions. Don’t worry though; with these tips, you’ll earn as much money as you had before in half the time.
Preparing for the Mesos Grind
If you just started playing, don’t be too concerned about making money just yet. Your first priority in MapleStory 2 is to reach level 50 and get competent gear, as you won’t be able to make a good amount of mesos if you haven’t. In fact, simply finishing the storyline would give you around 1-2 million mesos. That should be an ample amount if you’re planning on buying blue items.
Another thing you should do before going out to grind for mesos is to create an alternate account—or maybe even two. It might sound cliché, but the more accounts you have, the more money you’ll acquire. Think about it: simply finishing the story can gain you another 1-2 million mesos, then you can also use them to farm dailies and dungeons.
Just Get Rich!
Now on to the grind! If you want to get rich, there’s literally a “Get Rich” option in-game. While it’s not going to give you millions of mesos instantly, it will give you 3 quests you can choose from. These quests give out mesos bags which contain 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 50,000, 100,000, and even 500,000 mesos.
These quests reset during certain parts of the day, so you can accomplish them again once they’re available, thus allowing you to earn even more mesos. In addition, these quests can be done even with mid-tier gear, so you can jump on them right away. Lastly, the best part about these quests is that they’re relatively easy to finish. However, they’ll be requiring you to constantly move from one place to another. Thankfully, that’s a super-easy task to accomplish because of the air taxi. With this, you can complete these quests in a matter of minutes.
Into the Dungeons
Next up is the much more profitable way of earning mesos: dungeon farming. It can be done ten times a day, 30 times a week! There are many dungeons you can farm from, but the most recommended is the Tronix Bunker. It can be finished in mere three to six minutes with a reliable party. Do note that you can only achieve that completion speed if you already have an idea what the dungeon is like, so you should look up the dungeon’s mechanics. A little homework goes a long way indeed.
From here, you’ll get not only onyx crystals, which are in high demand and are therefore worth a lot, but also enhancement items and gear for your own class. Speaking of onyx crystals, you can also dismantle gear and get onyx crystals in return!
Other than onyx crystal farming, you can also get epic gear from dungeon runs. One can be sold for a whopping 11-30 million mesos, so we hope that you get one. Take note, however, that although it’s nice to have that amount of money, it’s still best to get one for yourself if you happen to come across an epic gear that’s suited for your class. After all, it’s a must-have, and you wouldn’t want to buy one so you’re better off getting one instead.
Earning Maplestory 2 mesos entails a little bit of work. That being said, it shouldn’t deter you since it’s really not so tedious. Because in this day and age where time and energy gold, the rule is now to work smart instead of simply working hard. So, what are you waiting for? Log in now and start playing and working smart for your millions of mesos!
